Parents are outraged after a boy wearing a Confederate flag shirt at a school in Kentucky says he was harassed by police.
Embert Davidson, who was wearing a shirt that read “My Boys,” said the shirt caused a “big problem.”
Davidson said he’s been to schools around the country where the Confederate flag is flown, but he was shocked to find the Confederate emblem on his shirt in Kentucky.
He was wearing the shirt to a church, where he said he prayed for forgiveness.
Davidson is now considering legal action.
Kentucky police said they responded to a call on Friday morning about a boy who was yelling at students.
The boy was charged with disorderly conduct and disorderly conduct in the school, which is located in Lexington.
Kentuckians for Racial Justice said the school has since taken down the Confederate symbol.
A spokesman for the American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky said the group is concerned about the way in which Davidson’s shirt was being worn at the school.
